Naturopathy
I hold an HNC in diet and nutrition and related disease and a naturopath diploma. Naturopath practitioners understand the art of healing and effective naturopathic treatment involves listening very well, good communication and translation of the persons history and client’s story.

As a naturopath practitioner I make a conscious effort to help clients not to suppress their symptoms and will work with you to try and detect the underlying root of your disease. As a naturopath I can recommend many types of gentle, non-invasive, effective natural remedies that don’t have any adverse side effects.

We believe that symptoms are an external manifestation of an internal imbalance, due to any combination of physical, emotional, environmental, or lifestyle strain. Although we know that symptom management is important, we also recognise that it’s important not to disregard the underlying cause of the disease. We work on the premise that given the right internal and external environment, the body can utilise its natural healing mechanisms to navigate its way back to a state of health and wellbeing.

An initial consultation with a Naturopath practitioner normally takes about an hour and a half. During this time, I will ask questions about your condition, medical history, diet and lifestyle, other aspects of your life and any conventional treatments that you may be taking or alternative therapies you have/are using.

A consulting Naturopath may then use Iridology (looking into the iris), or tongue, face pallor and nail diagnosis, and skin to get a better picture of the complete health state of the client. If needed, pathology testing such as hair, stool, or blood analysis may be recommended. Once all the information is gathered, a treatment plan is formulated that addresses all areas of the person’s life, providing the body, mind and soul with the optimum chance to heal itself. The treatment plan may include advice on diet, lifestyle, exercise, environment, herbal medicine, TCM, Ayurvedic, or other suitable therapies or remedies. As a Naturopath I may also suggest some of my other therapies if appropriate or advice/refer you to other practitioners as part of an integrated health care approach.
